Mt. Merbabu

Merbabu Mountain is one of the favorite mountain in java because of a very beautiful landscapes Merbabu Mountain located in Central Java with the height 3.142 Mdpl. Merbabu mountain himself stood near the Merapi Mountain in the southern realms. Merbabu mountain can be passed 4 channel with 1 new path namely :

1. Selo (Boyolali)

2. Wekas (Magelang)

3. Cunthel (Magelang)

4. Thekelan (Magelang)

5. Suwanting (Magelang) new

My journey in starting from the bus terminal in ciledug toward the city of boyolali. After 15 hours trip, came in terminal boyolali . after that I continue the journey with public transportation there toward selo area, located at the foot of mount Merapi and Merbabu. Then we breakfast in a small restaurant or commonly called "warteg" there. After breakfast i continue the journey toward the base camp as the beginning of the ascent of Merbabu mountain with the use of the car pick up . after 30 minutes, i arrived at base camp .

There, me and my friends must register to begin the ascent of and pay simaksi "surat izin masuk kawasan konservasi" after obtaining permission , then we started the ascent with friends hikers others.

From basecamp trip started with passing through the gate of the ascent of Merbabu Mountain path Selo. After that we will walk in the middle of the pine forests that usually used as rags ground. From here the path of the ascent of still numbered enough entry ramp and clearly because along the road to Post 1 there are many directions that can lead us. To go to Post 1 takes 1 hours .

After Post 1 to Post 2 the journey begins with the path that is still entry ramp that stretches in the middle of the tropical forest dries cool. In the middle of the journey we will find pos shadow. Before pos shadow no climbs which is quite rugged and this is the toughest track during the journey to Pos 2. Required time around 45 - 60 minutes the journey to make it to the Post 2. Post condition 2 are almost the same with Pos 1 only in the form of a plot of land without any shelter. This post is also located in the middle of the forest so still no landscape that can be seen.

We rest a few minutes there to increase energy for our body. After that the trip continued to Post 3 that this time the path of the ascent of have already started to open and has already started a little climbing. Here we can see the scenery of the valley of the mountains and the edelweiss flowers grow on the slopes of Mount. To make it to the Post 3 takes approximately 30 - 45 minutes. Post 3 is a flat land that wide enough. In this post Hikers can build many tents. Here medannya open so that the wind will be drafts tightly because of the lack of a tree. The scenery in Post 3 is very beautiful with the view of Mount Merapi appear to stand with the mighty.

In the post 3 is the plains that wide enough so that some hikers in many up tents here to rest. Here we rest long enough but we do not set up tents here , because we want to target up tents in pos 5 or commonly called sabana 2. To go to Post 4 we must pass through the path that can be argued most cliffs along the ascent via Selo. The path that passed by a red soil which is very dusty when dry season and will be very slippery when it rains unfortunately the weather is not so friendly with us on when it rains heavy enough but not beat our spirit to continue to climb using the raincoat already we prepare ourselves. Many of the tree along the way, but will all return to one before arriving at the Post 4. Before Post 4 we will pass through a public square that we can use to build tents. The scenery along the way is very beautiful landscape with the savannas that stretches wide. It may take about 1 hours to arrive at the Post 4.

Post 4 (sabana 1)

Post 4 is often called Sabana 1 because it pos 4 is located at the edge of the vast savannas and beautiful. In the post 4 also there is no shelter to shelter. Usually hikers up tents near the trees to protect from impact the breeze tightly. After post 4 trip continued to Pos 5 or many are called Sabana 2. Along the way we will pass through the scenery that captured and will be visible sabana 1 so beautiful if seen from the high places. We must be passed through the open field with about 30 minutes to reach in Pos 5. Post 5 is convenient located on the edge of a sabana. In the post 5 usually hikers up tents to stay before the early days continue the journey to the top and we built tents here to stay overnight in here and for prepare summit attack.

After up tents, we cook for our consumption that night , after eating, we rushing to sleep to increase the energy our body for the preparation of the Continue the journey to the top of the mountain merbabu.

After break so we woke up at 3 in the morning to continue the journey to the top of the Merbabu Mountain and get the summit attack. All the way to the top we will find many very beautiful edelweiss flowers. The path that passed continue climbing to the top. The path is located in an area that is open so that the fog and the wind directly struck us. To make it to the top of the closefisted time approx. 2 hour. Top Kenteng Songo is the top of the most high in the Merbabu Mountain after the top triangulation. From here we can see the Merapi Mountain that stood with the mighty in the south.
